Why People Apply for NADRA CNIC Cancelation

Surrendering of Pakistani Nationality

Those who have renounced Pakistani nationality by acquiring citizenship of a foreign country or possess a foreign nationality that doesn’t allow dual citizenship can apply for cancellation in this category.

Dual National Agreement or Resuming Pakistani Nationality

Former Pakistanis, who obtained a POC after renouncing Pakistani nationality, and acquiring foreign citizenship with a valid passport allowing dual nationality, may apply for POC cancellation if the Federal Government announces a dual nationality agreement with that country. Alternatively, if the applicant reacquires Pakistani nationality, they may also apply for POC cancellation.

Cancellation due to Divorced

A Pakistani spouse can request the cancellation of their ex-spouse’s (foreigner) POC following a divorce.

DUP status

If a citizen has dual CNICs can apply for cancellation of one card.
